Jiangsu Qianglin Bio-Energy Co.Ltd is a joint-venture company from Jiangsu Liqiang Group Co., Ltd and Institute of Chemical Industry of Forest Products, Chinese Academy of Forestry. The Company was formed in May 2007 with major focus on bio-diesel and biomass energy products from R&D, manufacturing, to sales.  Jiangsu Liqiang Group Co., Ltd. is the national R&D and manufacturing leader of polyester polyols serious products. In 1994 Liqiang was first recognized by Ministry of Agriculture as one of the nation’s “Township Enterprise Groups”. Over the last decade it has been repeatedly awarded as the "Outstanding Company", "AAA Credit Trusted Company", "China's Highest Profits and Tax Company". It is also one of the nation’s top 500 companies among the secondary category enterprises. The Institute of Chemical Industry of forest Products is the only Institute specialized in chemical processing and utilization of forest products and biomass materials in China. Over the last 40 years, the Institute has completed more than 500 national, ministerial, and provincial R&D projects. Among those projects, 320 have been officially arfraised with break through results. 22 projects won national awards and 74 won province awards. The Institute holds 36 patents and a Forest Chemical Engineering Lab sponsored by the National Forestry Bureau, and is able to offer Master and Doctoral degree program and post-doctoral research positions in chemical utilization of forest products.

   The new join-venture company is located in the JiangBu Industrial Park of Liyang City, Jiangsu province, 20 kilometers away from the famous National Scenic Area of Tianmu Lake and Nanshan Bamboo Park. The company has a total investment of over 60 million RMB and covers 60000 square meters area including 5000 square meters for office building. Initial construction started in Oct. 2007 and is to be completed by early 2008. The new company has been approved for three transforma-fion projects,Pased on the R&D achievements of the Institutes, sponsored the National Development and Reform Commission, Jiangsu Province and Ministry of Science and Technology, with a total fund of tens of millions of RMB. Accsrding to the local and global market demands, four product lines have been established: a 100,000 tons/year bio-diesel production line, a 10,000 tons/year glycerine production line, and a 30,000 tons/year polyether and poly ester polyol production line, and a 5,000 tons/year phenolic resin production line. The production lines of rigid polyurethane foam and phenolic foam resin have been proposed.
